The School and Community
With its main campus located on 17 acres in Solana Beach, twenty miles north of downtown San Diego, California, Santa Fe Christian is a coeducational independent college preparatory day school offering kindergarten through 12th grade. The preschool is located on a second campus, about 4 miles north in the town of Encinitas.
Founded in 1977, Santa Fe Christian was originally part of the Christian Unified School District. In 1985 it became an independent, coeducational, non-profit Christian school. Originally built as a hotel in the 1940's, and later used as a military academy, the campus sits atop a hill with a view of the Pacific Ocean.
Outstanding school buildings include a gymnasium/Student Activity Center (1997), a football/soccer and baseball field, a new Lower School playground (1999), the Library/Technology Center (2001), the Science Center (2004), and the West Quad portion of the new Upper School building (2006), which holds 12 classrooms and administative offices.
During summer 2008 all Lower School buildings were completely renovated and state-of-the-art tecnhology was installed. This joint effort was accomplished by generous gifts of time, talent and gifts from our SFCS community.
