Lower School

The SFC Lower School (K – 5) provides a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our educational philosophy is based on the core values of academic excellence, stewardship, Christ-likeness, family, students and teachers. While adhering to state standards, SFC integrates Biblical truth in all subject areas. The acquisition of knowledge and development of skills is for the purpose of better equipping our students to be effective Christian leaders.

Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten program focuses on developing the whole child - spiritual, academic, social, and physical. Our reading program includes a balanced literacy program which includes a strong phonics base, beginning reading skills, leveled guided reading instruction and whole language activities. The math program uses hands-on activities and math concepts are developed through the use of the Singapore Math program. Bible instruction covers Old and New Testament stories with practical applications while Bible verse memorization is a weekly part of our program. Science and social studies are taught from a biblical viewpoint with many explorative activities. Kindergarten students experience hands-on learning opportunities through the science lab, art studio, music, PE, and Spanish.
