Mrs. Clark     Art Teacher

As the director of the Visual Art Department for the lower school at Santa Fe Christian School, my goal will be to teach and mentor each child to creatively express themselves through the media of visual art. Art is a unique outlet that allows God’s children to explore the canvas of their minds as well as the beauty of God’s Creation. Psalm 139 states…”Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” How great it is for our students to learn to see and experience God’s world and works in a special way!

The core objective of this program is to open up a new door in academic learning, inviting the children to walk into an endless world of creativity and “right brain” intellectual thinking and expression. We will explore and stimulate their skills of observation, planning and organization, including critical thinking, throughout this fun, hands-on, and self-expressive process. The curriculum will include art elements, principles of design, experience in various multimedia, understanding art appreciation through art history and the masters, as well as art’s integration with other academic studies and with God’s Word. Each school year culminates with our Lower School Art Show and individual art participation at the San Diego County Fair.

In the 18 plus years I have taught at SFC, I have found that students are limitless in their possibilities and promise. God made each and every one of us uniquely, gifted with numerous talents and most importantly, in His image. My passion is to teach our children to use these talents for Him, every day, with a humble heart.

I am so thrilled and excited for you all to learn and appreciate art as I do, so let’s get started!
