Mrs. Dixon     Fifth Grade Teacher

It is a humbling privilege to shape our future with the absolute truth found in the Word of God. As a Christian educator it is my responsibility to model both spiritual and intellectual truth (Hebrews 1:1-3; Matt.22:37,38) as well as guide students to be all that God purposed them to be. This can only be achieved through the partnership of parents and teachers striving to maintain consistent Christ-centered values. Although my influence on the lives of these students is substantial I still believe the parent is the primary educator (Deuteronomy 6:7,8; Genesis 17:7; Proverbs 22:6).

The fifth grade year is a time of transition toward independent thinking, increased responsibility, time management, and developed leadership and service. In addition to mastering the CA state standards it is my goal for students exiting 5th grade to clearly understand that:

     •God is Sovereign (Romans 11:36).
•God has a specific plan for our lives (Psalm 139:13-15; Romans 12:4-8)
•God wants to have a growing relationship with us (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
     •We were created to glorify God (1 Pet. 4:11; l Cor. 10:31)
•We are on earth to tell others about Christ and his redemption for all mankind ( Acts 4:12; Mt. 28:18-20 )
•We must think and act biblically with spirit-filled lives in a culture opposed to Christianity (Romans 12:2; Romans 8:9).

I started out teaching in the South Carolina elementary public schools before moving with my husband to beautiful San Diego. This is my fourth year at SFC and my seventh year teaching.
