Welcome to the sixth grade at SFC! The sixth grade is a year of adjusting to new ways of learning, studying, getting along with others, and in growing in your personal relationship with Jesus. (We even learn how to use lockers and to rotate form class to class in five minutes!) It is my privilege and passion to help students have fun becoming successful life-long learners and vibrant, creative Christians. Our sixth grade team works diligently showing our students how to oraganize their work, and to best utiilize study skills and techniques across the curriculum.
God put a passion for teaching in my heart when I was in the 5th grade and it hasn't left yet. I grew up in the Midwest and New England and have lived in the San Diego area for past 34 years. I graduated from Rockford College with a BA in Child Development. Before coming to SFC, I had seven years experience teaching third and fourth grade. For three of those years, I was a teaching - principal. What fun! I taught a 4/5 combination class my first year at SFC. When I returned to SFC after having my children, I began teaching in the sixth grade. Sixteen years later, it still feels like home. I am proud to say that both my children are graduates of SFC. I enjoy traveling, music, sports, stitching, and cooking for friends and family. I worship at Solana Beach Pres. Church and am often involved in the children's ministry and VBS.
