This is my first year at Santa Fe Christian and I am thrilled to be teaching Language Arts! Teaching writing is my passion and I enjoy working with students to help hone and craft their writing skills. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an English Education minor from the University of Wisconsin. I began teaching 6th and 7th grade English in Weston, Wisconsin; during this time I served as the youth leader for my Presbyterian church and began to help junior high school students grow in their faith. Three years later, I joined my husband in Lafayette, Indiana, where I taught one year of reading to disadvantaged middle school students. In 2008, my husband and I moved to San Diego so that he could begin his post-doctoral studies at the Scripps Research Institute and so that I could teach here, the school of my dreams! I feel very grateful and blessed to be a part of this school, in particular the middle school, which is my favorite level of students with whom to work. Outside of school I love traveling, watching the Green Bay Packers, spending time in the outdoors, and reading all things Jane Austen.
