Art 1 MS

This is full year course will teach the fundamentals of art through five basic elements of design: line, shape, value, color, and texture/pattern. These will become the building blocks for all future art endeavors. The students will learn these fundamentals through a discipline based art education. The areas to be explored are art history, aesthetics, criticism, and production. A wide range of materials will be used to encourage a variety and experimentation of techniques. Disciplines of other classroom academics will be brough into the art room for cross training curriculum. Any student woh took art in 6th grade or art appreciation in 7th grade may take this class.
