Welcome to Old Testament Studies!
Hi! My name is Steve Kim and it is my privilege and honor to teach students the amazing truths of the Bible. I taught at SFC five years ago and back then I was teaching primarily Chemistry. I left to attend The Master's Seminary and have returned to SFC to teach Bible.
The purpose of this course is to give students a detailed understanding of the content, authorship, and cultural context of the Bible and its times. The class will aim to inspire students to not only become life-long students of the Bible, but also to become competent in being able to defend their faith from a biblical stand point.
The Bible is our focus for this class. Most of the class will be spent looking at the "Big Picture" while still taking opportunities to narrow in our framework of reference to capture important concepts and devotional ideas. Students will take daily notes on the lecture/discussion portion of the class. These class notes will function as a study guide for quizzes and tests. At the beginning of each week, assignments for that week will be posted, including readings, worksheets, memory verses, papers, and test information.
