To FRENCH students: Bienvenue à la classe de français!  Welcome to French class!  Learning a language has enormous value in many areas.  By the end of this year, students should be able to:

  • Engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express their feelings and emotions and exchange opinions on a variety of topics including travel, school, family, clothing, sports, holidays, and, of course, food;
  • Express an understanding of and appreciation for the French language and culture.
  • Present information, concepts and ideas in French both orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrate their understanding of both written and spoken French on a variety of topics;
  • Communicate the spiritual needs of French-speaking countries as well as ways in which God is actively at work in the Francophone world.

Our language classes at SFC are fast-paced and filled with fun, challenging activities, games, skits, dialogues, creative writing, and much more.  We explore language through music, DVD, video, art, drama and literature.  I'm excited to join you on your language learning adventure this year!

To WESTERN PHILOSOPHY and ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS students:  I'm delighted to journey through the centuries of the development of western thought and to discover major factors influencing our current worldview.  Be prepared for a lot of interesting reading, animated discussion and creative contemplation!
