I am very excited to be teaching at SFC! As a "newbie" to the school, I am looking forward to teaching your children. My journey to SFC has been a winding road.
I was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I am a blessed daughter of Southern Baptist missionaries. Later, I came to the states to attend Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where I graduated with a degree in Education (Spanish and Physical Education).
I taught and coached at Abilene High School (Go, Eagles!). When we moved to Euless, Texas, I had a family of my own - my husband and one child. I taught at Trinity High School (which at present features the high school football team in a Gatorade commercial with Bill Parcells-- "Do you have what it takes to pay the toll?")
A few years later, we moved again to OHIO (my husband's hometown). I taught in the Warren City School District - also famous for its football players, especially Maurice Clarrett. I learned quickly to love the area and after five years there I can say "Go, Bucks!". I loved the POUND and Chief Wahoo rules.
Finally, we moved to San Diego due to my husband's job and even out here, 2000 miles away, there is still a very loyal following to all of our Ohio sports teams.
My heart's desire when we first moved to Encinitas was to work at SFC. I thought that God had closed a door when all positions were closed. Instead, God placed me at Pacific Academy for two years which was a blessing. In His Perfect timing, He has now placed me here at SFC, home of the eagles!
