Located at the heart of SFCS, the Library Media Center offers a plethora of over 18,000 quality reading and research materials, as well as computers for student use. To ensure that our students and staff can effectively access information, on-going instruction and assistance is provided. We currently subscribe to the Gale Student Resource Center, Worldbook Online Resource Center, and the Alexandria NetTrekker Database. All students are able to access the facility either with a class or on their own provided a quiet and orderly atmosphere conducive to study, reading, and research is maintained. The official hours are Mon. - Thurs. 7:15 am - 4:30 pm. and Fri. 7:15 am-3:00 pm. Closure before holidays is 2:00 pm. These hours of operation are a privilege for Middle and Upper School students that respect the rules and guidelines for usage. Lower School students visit the library weekly for lessons with their classes. After school, book checkout ONLY with a supervising parent is possible for Lower School students. Each student is issued a library barcode kept on file in the library. Parents may check out books using their students barcode as well. Books are due every two weeks on Thursdays with no fines given on Fridays. After that a $.10 a day fine accrues. We appreciate parental help in returning books! Please come and see what we have to offer--Reading isn't just for school, it's for Life! |
