Need A Good Book?
There are several places to check for great books. One is the Newberry Award Book List. Another is the Children's Crown Book Awards. For US students, you might consider reading "The Classics", those books identified for college bound students.
The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century British bookseller John Newbery. The mission of the Children's Crown Gallery, the Children's Crown, and the Lamplighter Awards is to encourage elementary and junior high students to read wholesome and uplifting books by providing lists each year of the best literature. http://www.childrenscrownaward.org/
