Mrs. DeWoody    Nurse

Being the nurse at SFC is a special blessing for me.  It gives me the unique opportunity to interact with each and every student in the school!  I have been a Registered Nurse for over 24 years but I believe God called me into school nursing when I was in high school.  I graduated from Point Loma College with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  When I graduated, however, I didn’t immediately go into school nursing.  I worked in Pediatrics, Family Practice and Cosmetic Surgery before staying home for 5 years with my three children.  It was 14 years before God opened the door for me to step into school nursing.  I have been working as a school nurse for the past 10 years.

As a school nurse I will:

  • Provide basic first aid to students during the school day
  • Administer prescription and over the counter medications with physician written approval
  • Work with parents and teachers to be sure the health needs of your child are met
  • Evaluate students that are ill

If you have questions or concerns I would encourage you to contact me at any time.  I consider it an honor and a privilege to work with you and your children each day at Santa Fe.
